dead CEO

The United Healthcare CEO was killed today, in what looks like an assassination. I suspect a former patient or family member of a former patient or a radical leftist.

I feel weird about it. He was a person, and I don't like violence. But CEOs of giant companies are partially responsible for the death and suffering of so many people. If that CEO held a gun to someone's head, killing him would be self-defense.

But he & his company don't hold a gun - they withhold medical treatment so that they can make profits, about $300 per patient in 2023, or nearly $15 billion USD. So is it self-defense when the poor people fight back against the powerful companies?

When a guy tried to assassinate Trump & failed, I was relieved, because I was scared what would happen if the assassin had succeeded.

But with the CEO being killed, I am hopeful that it could start a wave of change. Maybe the only change we'll see is that CEOs and owners will use more money to hire body-guards, and further militarize against the working people.

I also wish his family & loved ones well, and to have support and love as they grieve.

It's also worth noting: No individual CEO is solely responsible for the horrors of capitalism. The system is at fault. It involves CEOs, board members, company owners, shareholders, governments, police, and consumers.
