Local solutions for national problems
Trump offers mass deportation of immigrants using the national guard and local police forces.
We can organize locally and pressure our city councils and county boards to oppose this. Our police forces do not have to cooperate. If our local governments don't stand against it, maybe we can organize people broadly enough to oppose it.
Trump offers to end wokeness and meddle in u.s. education to prevent educating people about LGBTQ topics and America's atrocities and racial topics.
We can pressure school boards to stand against this. We can organize and talk to teacher's unions and literally just build big coalitions to stand against this. At some point, if Trump's serious, we might need to ignore his laws and do what's right - educate children about the truth.
Oil production / anti-climate activity
We can pressure our cities to build walkable infrastructure, update zoning policies to spur specific developments for walkable neighborhoods, encourage EV infrastructure (probably the least important part of this), get local investment in native plantings, get city governments to educate locals about growing native gardens, encourage expansion of solar in your community (there are coops and corporations that work in this space)
What else, what else?
Idunno. Think about what your city can do, what you can do with your friends, what local organizations there are. Some stuff is completely out of our hands, but some stuff is really up to the locals, no matter what the fed says.
If any of it gets bad enough, some of us will need to risk going to jail in order to stand up for freedom, for truth, and for our fellow americans.
