Jerry Seinfeld and the "too sensitive" left
"Jerry Seinfeld can't do comedy any more because people are too sensitive," someone said to me.
And I'm immediately defending those who would cancel him, justifying it.
I haven't listened to his comedy in years. I don't follow him. I don't know if he's racist or sexist, or if his comedy is even politically incorrect. And if it isn't PC, I don't know if it's in good faith or not.
I've been so bothered by right wingers complaining that they can't even say anything anymore that I immediately took a position on a topic I know almost nothing about.
Oh, Jerry Seinfeld does still do comedy though. He has like 40-50 gigs from now through May.
But yeah, I guess he says he won't play college campuses any more because of students who call him racist or sexist.
His complaints might be justified and his comedy might be good. I honestly don't know, and I don't want to jump to conclusions like I did. I also don't want to accept his complaints at face value either. I just want to ... not know, and be okay with that.
