Please ask Steam to improve RSS Support
Steam supports RSS for game news, but it is hard to get to and not a great experience. If they did better, this could be a really great gateway to get more people into RSS, plus it'd just be hella handy.
I contacted Steam awhile ago asking for improvements, but I have seen none.
Here's a sample letter you can send them.
Hi, I really appreciate that Steam supports RSS feeds for game updates and news, but it's difficult to use and I'd love to see some improvements to it.
First, each game's main store page should have HTML Markup so that feed readers can detect both the 'View Update History' and 'Read Related News' feeds. As-is, you have to scroll down, click a link, then a dropdown, then 'RSS', and THEN you can subscribe to the feed.
Second, each feed should have the game's actual name and icon. As-is, the feed's title is 'APP_ID RSS Feed' and the icon is Steam's default icon. It's okay, but it could be nicer.
Third, and much less important, it would be nice if we could subscribe to RSS Feeds for Discussions.
