Epic games forcing arbitration
I tried to play Rocket League tonight, and there was a lovely Terms & Conditions update. I couldn't launch without agreeing.
I can't sue Epic Games now. I am required to use arbitration. And I couldn't play the game without agreeing.
Now, I haven't spent any money on Rocket League, so I can hardly die on the hill of having bought it, therefore deserving access to it.
But other people DID buy Rocket League, or have bought in-game items.
It's unethical. Companies shouldn't do forced arbitration, and you should be allowed to decline.
My ROKU, though - that had a forced-arbitration update a little while ago. That's a device I OWN. And I literally couldn't use it without agreeing. Is it really my device, then? No. No its not.
It's their device and I have a license to use it, because we don't get to own things any more, even when we buy them.
I think I'm gonna email my representative about this, right now, because I'm mad about it. I won't do it later if I put it off.
