Idea: Flip a switch to go live
I just played some SuperHot, and I was getting secret rooms. I got in my head about streamers (& content creation) & thought "I'd maybe stream it if it were a flip of a switch."
And I imagined literally having a physical switch that you flip. It'll have a plastic protective cover on it to prevent accidental streaming.
You flip it, and it basically closes everything, then opens your streaming setup. Maybe not closes everything. And maybe gives like a 30 second timer on screen before going live. But anyway, it would open chat & obs & whatever else you do for streaming.
It seems like a gimicky little product you could make and sell to streamers for a couple hundred dollars. The hardware should be pretty simple, and the software maybe wouldn't be, idk. Would be sick if it were plug-n-play (or bluetooth?) Like it would be nice not to have to download and install software. Perhaps the hardware would ship with a self-updating version of the software & it can be installed directly from the hardware.
It would need to be pretty. And you could make other hardware like it, that has those kind of routines or whatever.
Why not just make it as software that's triggered by a hotkey on your keyboard, or literally just a program you launch from your desktop that is literally just "stream".
True. And then you wouldn't be creating unnecessary waste by producing a bunch of basically pointless little plastic switches with a small amount of electronics in them.
I don't like this idea. Like it's neat to imagine, but it's just a waste of earth's resources when a software solution exists.
