Marry Miller (R) Newsletter from Sep 28, 2024

Mary Miller is my U.S. Congresswoman, and I get her newsletters, and I have thoughts I want to get out of my head.

Border

It's bad for 13,000 murderers & 15,000 rapists to immigrate here. But don't whine to me about it or fear-monger me about the nation being destroyed. Tell my why it's happening, what it costs, and the range of policies that could help, and which one's you support.

More cruelty to immigrants & a stronger border might help... But what about more efficient processes? Temporary housing communities for asylum seekers, faster court hearings, better background check systems, more personnel to process people seeking legal immigration, shitty jobs (that Americans don't wanna do) to pay your way into the country.

I attended meetings this week that highlighted the threats our nation faces from the Biden-Harris open border policies. "Border Czar" Kamala Harris has allowed suspected terrorists, foreign gang members, murderers, and drug and human traffickers to enter into our country.

Official data from ICE reveal that Kamala Harris released 13,099 convicted murderers and 15,811 rapists who crossed the border illegally. No leader who cared about their citizens would do this to their own people!

American taxpayers do not want to fund the NGOs and other costs of the Biden-Harris illegal immigration policies. We will cease to exist as a nation unless we re-implement the Trump administration border policies that secured our border and put America first.

Obscene books

Local school curriculum is not what I want my federal congressional representatives working on. Let the school board and the kids and the parents and that community deal with it. Stay out of our business on local shit.

And, maybe don't lose your shit over a book that talks about real life problems. And maybe don't show interest in regulating what kind of speech we can use against certain religions.

This week, I attended a Carrollton Community Unified School District #1 school board meeting in support of parents who are concerned about a book being used by the school that contains language graphically mocking Jesus Christ, disparaging Christianity, engaging in racial slurs against African Americans, and obscene sexual acts, which violate the values of the community.

I was appalled. Parents are the primary educators of their children, and they have a right to know if their child’s teacher will be sharing pornographic or anti-Christian materials with their child.

Our communities thrive when parents and schools work together in education and when we focus on the timeless values that have made our country so great.

Parents have the best interest of their children at heart, and parents must be the decision makers for their children. Parents are in charge, and their wishes must be respected.

I commend the parents here for speaking out and the members of this board for listening to their concerns.

Farmers

Chinese companies owning our farmland sounds bad. Good job.

Solar? Yeah, I guess we need to protect our agriculture, but I think you're creating a boogeyman with solar. Also, solar is getting cheaper & cheaper. Our energy costs are way too high, and cause too much pollution. Having cheaper & more sustainable power sources would be great.

Farmers are facing the largest decrease in farm income of ALL TIME.

We need new trade deals and incentives for American biofuels instead of Chinese batteries.

Record crop yields just to break even is unsustainable for our farmers and we can't keep losing fertile farmland to solar.

The House recently passed legislation that I was proud to vote for that would protect American agriculture from foreign adversaries. I'll continue to fight for American farmers in Congress and oppose foreign adversary efforts to control our food supply.

Biological Sex

I'm nonbinary. I have friends who are binary trans. Stay out of our business. None of us are confused about biology, you're missing the point.

And please don't decide what kind of lives people or kids should be having. We live in a free country & you dictating how we should grow up is not okay.

I recently joined the ā€œThe Daily Signal Podcastā€ to discuss the importance of marriage, family, and recognizing the biological differences between males and females.

Faith and family are what’s made our country not only great but good. We must restore that. A stable home life causes kids to be secure and safe and successful, and we need to do what we can to entice young people to want to get married and to have children.

Red Tape

I don't like red tape either, but I hope you're not loosening regulations that actually protect consumers (voters. businesses are not voters.)

I had a wonderful time in Decatur touring Skeff Distributing, Dynagraphics, and Parke Warehouse.

We discussed the need for cutting red tape and supporting workforce development. I’m thankful for these businesses and their contributions to our local economy!

Gender Transitions

I'm very sorry about those kids. That really sucks. It sounds like their families and health providers made decisions they regret. That sucks, but it was their freedom to do that.

Rather than regulating personal choices, just ensure that people will be adequately informed by their providers.

I recently hosted a Congressional Family Caucus briefing focused on supporting victims of gender transition. We heard the heart wrenching stories of Chloe Cole, Walt Heyer, and Prisha Mosley, all of whom underwent gender transition procedures and later regretted their decisions. Radical governors like Tim Walz (D-MN) and Gavin Newsom (D-CA) are far too eager to enable sex-change policies that permanently destroy children's lives.

Congress must pass H.R. 3328, the Protecting Children from Experimentation Act, and H.R. 3329, the End Taxpayer Funding of Gender Experimentation Act immediately to protect our children and to prevent American taxpayers from paying for sex-change surgeries for minors.
